Absurd Grade and Elevation results #1448

I'm running KitKat on Nexus 5, MyTracks version Feb. 1, 2014.
On a recent easy neighborhood walk for an hour, I get:
Grade Min=-16%, Max=463%
Elevation Gain=968 ft.
These results are simply impossible. However, it probably related to the app
Chart shows that I started at 0 elevation (in reality, at about 550 ft).

Nice app otherwise, if it were to calculate or graph correctly. The maps and
replay functions are great.

This may be an Android issue, but there is a partial workaround for this: set
the Location to GPS Only, i.e. Device only in Settings.
That corrects the elevation issues, and one gets much better tracking if WiFi
location services are turned Off.

A little more testing with only GPS tracking reveals that even with GPS-only
tracking and good Elevation data, the calculated Grade figures are still
obviously nonsense.

A half mile walk where the Chart shows only reasonable data - a gain from 550
ft. and then loss of about 200 ft. again while going home, with no visible gaps
in the Chart, gives Grade Min=-19% and Max=19%.

Does anyone ever Test this stuff? I mean free is free, but a -19% Grade is not
remotely reasonable unless someone jumps off a cliff.
