The 'Sender' field is currently required to be populated before creating StationXML with YASMINE, but it's an optional field and (as of version 1.2) it will be encouraged for originators of StationXML to only use and for distributors to use

http://docs.fdsn.org/projects/stationxml/en/latest/reference.html#sender Name of the institution sending this document, for example the institution hosting an FDSN Station web service. It is recommended that authoritative StationXML created by the originator of the metadata not use Sender and use Source instead. For example metadata created by a network operator for submission to other data archives would only use Source, The data archive in response to a request would use Sender.

Sender is optional: "Name of the institution sending this document, for example the institution hosting an FDSN Station web service."

As Gillian indicates, Source instead is required. We should change this entry box to fill in the Source field, and it should be labeled "Institution Name" in the UI. Sender should be an optional field that can be added in the editor box for the Builder Mode.
