Users should select a theme at sign in that will create a color palette for their rounds.
Now that other players rounds are displayed as smaller rings outside, we don't need 1-color-per user to distinguish between players. Having a new color for each round will also help identify which round corresponds to which sound (a pain point also expressed in issues #85 and #101). The selected layer's color should be displayed prominently in the instrument panel next to the "instrument name" to help users make the connection which layer / sound they are editing.
See enhancement in K-Man Enhancements: It could be useful to allow users touch and hold the color display in the instrument editor to pull down a menu to navigate between layers without ever needing to leave the instrument editor panel #141 and #132
