Why do I see groups as folders/collections in the home folder? #314

Is this specific to metalnx?

If I am to guess what you're describing - every user is automatically created a home collection by default policy in a default iRODS installation. Groups are also users (internally), so they would have a home collection created for them as well. And the group would have own permission on it (any members would be able to read/write to that collection).

Does that match with what you're seeing?

Groups are also users (internally) I didn't know that. Thanks for the explanation. Then it isn't metalnx specific of course. Does that match with what you're seeing? Yes it does :)
