giving the area around the castle a different look #263

Currently the castle doesn't look very intimidating. I think it's because it's surrounded by grass and trees.

Could we do something else there? Make the surrounding environment more evilish, like perhaps dark brick tiles on the floor, some evil looking plants, that stuff?

I like the idea with the darker tiles thing, maybe dead grass, burned-out trees, and more :)

Why not a bridge troll/goblin, as well? I don't think there's a goblin boss yet, or if there is, he should be on the bridge.

TheRestIsATest commented 10 years ago

What I would suggest is a big high grey deadly (many adjectives more) mountain where there is lot of space to place various things like the graveyard or a camp for urgath and so on until you reach the peak where the castle is

@DatapawWolf Working on a zone specificly for golbins ;)

Sounds great! :D @Meanapple. Still though, bridge troll pl0x mr Apple?

Either that or a Black Knight. I mean, someone who could take a few flesh wounds. ;)

lschans commented 10 years ago

How about bats or small dragons flying around the castle towers.

I like the bats and/or dragons. Perhaps they could be just out of range so players have to be good marksman to hit them, which gets their attention, and thus interesting items. :)

So like this: Have a handful of enemies flying around the tower for show. A couple kinds of each enemy are just within bowshot.

Could even be a good place to implement some kind of AI for "swarming." When one is attacked, the rest flock to the area. >:)
