Looks more like a feature for an advanced bouncer to me. The irssi proxy is very minimal, and low-level, it doesn't even need to know to which channel an events belong. So I don't think this is an appropriate feature for irssi proxy.
Irssi proxy is indeed nice, I'm using it on mobile phone (wirelessIrc) but there is one major inconvenience. There is way too many channels even in one ircnet! On mobile devices where there is a limited amount of space and functions, it would be desirable to have only few channels visible. So my feature request is that you could hide unwanted channels from proxy.
