UTF-8 in iMPD #65

While using irssi, if I have a:

U+00F6 LATIN SMALL LETTER O WITH DIAERESIS UTF-8: 0xC3 0xB6 Octal escaped UTF-8: \303\266 Decimal entity reference: ö

come from mpc into iMPD in the statusbar, the cursor jumps back and forth, and does not draw what I'm typing correctly, thus makeing it completely impossible to make out what I'm typing. Actually I have seen this same behavior displayed with the single letter ae also.

Steps to duplicate: 1) /script load iMPD 2) /set mpdbarwindow on 3) /mcap nema (to add tool-_ænema.flac) or /mcap hunter (to add Björk - Hunter.flac) 4) /mplay

Irssi Version: irssi 0.8.9 (20031210 2316) Locale: en_US.UTF-8 Software Enviroment: linux-2.6.5, Gentoo, gcc version 3.3.2 20031218, glibc-2.3.2-r9

Sorry, also I need to say that I did add use utf8; to the script before trying this, and still the same problem.

Also, forgot to say that CTRL-L doesn't help at all.
