When you use `torify irssi' to connect to a SSL network, irssi starts using 100% CPU and never connects.

torify has been depreciated in favor of the more recently updated usewithtor script.

A better method is to use Socat to create a local tunnel. A tutorial on how to use Socat can be found on the Tor track/wiki: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/TorifyHOWTO/IrcSilc#Socat

I can't reproduce this issue in Debian stable for example nor with the latest version of irssi. This issue should be closed.
