Help | Beginner
I'm currently making 2 cuts in the footage then ripple deleting the clip between them, but I feel like there must be a quicker solution for such a basic edit.

Cut then Ctrl+Shift+[ to ripple trim start of clip to playhead, Ctrl+Shift+] to ripple trim end to playhead.
In Trim mode (T key) with Dynamic mode (W key) you can even use JKL keys to trim. Chapter 43 'Trimming' has a wealth of tips for fast editing.

Also another quickie - set In/Out points (I and O keys) then Delete to ripple delete or Backspace to lift on all tracks that have autoselect enabled. Cuts will be added automatically.
