Hi. I'm a newbie of this camera. Can you add the h265 encoding to your fw or it's an hardware limit even if supported by the Ambarella H2

The firmware is probably missing some code to make it work properly.

I think that the reason why Yi didn't make h265 work is probably because it would not actually make things any better.

It crashes when I force using h265 recording, probably code still not stable yet

How did you forced it? Maybe the OS is missing of any driver to enable h265 encoding
