@blobgo The chosen feature for the Become the Boss perk (chosen by @LittleVulpix) was improving file transfers which could be more reliable than they are right now, especially on slow connections.

I am a friend of Harry (hsimons) We know each other since we were kids and he asked me to post here so everybody knows what happened to him. I'm not really a computer person, but signing-up to this site was easy enough.

How desperate can you be neeh?

@friend1 first of all @irungentoo asks directly for money to pay himself for one month and 5.000 $ is not that much for an experienced developer like him. If he pays his debts with this money in the one month I don't care, as long as he does the development on toxcore in this month. To be clear, there is always the risk that something happens, but investing e. g. 25 $ in an Indigogoo campaign does not make most of the people homeless.

and either you @friend1 or @hsimons are trustworthy enough. Who knows, maybe your are from an agency of some country. Nobody knows that, but @irungentoo does a lot of work, everybody can see what he does for this project. On the other hand @hsimons have not contributed to this project at all.

First, it's very convenient for you all to ban @hsimons and me and then talking bad about us. hsimons told me to ask "but @stqism was kicked from the project because he used donation money to pay his personal affairs. Now @irungentoo is asking for donation money so he can... pay his personal affairs! Isn't this double-standard? Also, everything is too evasive and shady, irungentoo doesn't explains things completely".

NOTE: this isn't an exact quote from Harry, we talked on phone and this is more or less what he said.

I can't believe anyone would go as far as to talk to their friends about some random github project on the phone. Most people would just give up. I don't believe that you're not hsimons even for a second :p Either that or you and hsimons are best friends for life and you are doing him a super big favour :dancer: Irungentoo is not shady, he said exactly what the money goes towards, and you are paying for toxcore development. Well not you, but contributors.

Short Summary

Tox is a peer to peer, distributed, free as in freedom, open source, encrypted skype replacement. Toxcore is the main library or the core that all Tox clients use.

I (irungentoo) am the main developer of Toxcore and I am raising 5000 USD to pay myself to work full time on Toxcore for at least 1 month which will give it the boost in development that it needs.

The money raised will go directly to me (irungentoo).

What You Get

You get 1 month of full time toxcore development work. Things I want to do/finish include (in order: first is highest priority):

A full protocol specification and documentation on how Toxcore works that doesn't suck.
Debug and properly fix the issues people have (File transfers, A/V chats, etc...).
Finish any unfinished Toxcore related projects.
Make the network harder to attack.

The Impact

1 month+ of of full time development effort will bring Toxcore closer to being complete.
