Channel balance resets to L after switching from another audio device and unmuting

I have 2 audio devices I alternate between: USB desktop speakers and headphones attached to the PC via sound card. I have headphone volume at 0 when I do not use them. The desktop USB speakers auto power off after 15 minutes. After switching from desktop speakers to headphones, for some reason Volume2 sets channel balance to L.. Doesn't always happen.

• Windows 11, 22631.3880
• Same happened on Windows 10
• Volume² version 1.1.8.465 (16.09.2023)

I wish I could simply disable the channel balancing mechanism and leave it locked at the center. I also noticed that it's impossible to set balance to 50/50 from the tray popup as it oversteps: I can pick either 49/51 or 51/49...

To set it exactly 50/50 on high DPI screens please use keyboard.

I set the scheduler, but it has zero effect on the issue, the balance is still at L after changing from USB speakers to PC audio card.
