Is this project dead? I have patches waiting, and if it is not being developed 
nor I being able to get access to the project, I will be forced to branch it 
yet again :(

Hi, I also have been using and working on enhancements to Socksipy.  If things 
stay quiet here, perhaps we should work together?  Feel free to mail me, bre at 
pagekite dot net.

Nope, not dead! The guys have added me as a contributor, I am going to work on 
getting my changes and yours integrated.  You've got mail. :-)
