ID BLUS30521 Ghost Recon Future Soldier

The game already has LAN inbuilt for 16 player versus mode, this would be a huge enhancement

FrankForsyth commented 2 years ago

that would be realy awesome

cloudslsw commented 2 years ago

i guess some of them need this, many people prefer play FPS in mouse+keyboard

GR: Future Soldier already has a PC port with LAN support, though..?

Would be cool to see Advanced Warfighter 2 however, since the Xbox 360/PS3 version of that game was vastly different to the PC version.

It is possible that the PC version has LAN inbuilt into the exe file but it is not shown on the screen. They ported the PC game directly from xbox360 I think

For the record, a PC release existing and covering needs doesn't invalidate a request for a KAMI hook. It just makes it a lot less likely to happen.

The PC release is dead in terms of multiplayer currently because Ubi pulled the plug on the servers and the PS3 version has LAN which is why a lot of people are looking for this

To the developer of KAMI. What would the feasibility of getting KAMI injection working with GRFS Be?

Coinhexa commented 2 years ago

Can we have someone from the KAMI team with a focus on this issue @isJuhn ? I am a member of a discord with a lot of people who are looking for this. It would be super highly appreciated as the servers from ubisoft are shutting down after Sep 1 and we have no way of playing this game except this

It can be done for sure, but it might be very tricky. Some games lend themselves to camera injection very well, while others don't (looking at you BF: Bad Company). It would most likely require a few hours to get a basic idea of the scope, and then it will be an iterative process where testing and bug-fixing will be needed.

I don't decide what other devs work on, I only decide what I work on. And it's unlikely I'll look into this before getting some other KAMI stuff done. I don't have a lot of time for KAMI nowdays, and if I did I'd work on implementing config files, playing around with a new GUI framework, or trying to figure out Bad Company.

Frankly, the fastest way for you to make this happen is to find someone who knows how to reverse engineer the game camera code themselves. Or at least gather information about where in memory we can find the camera direction values.
