The color palette GitHub uses for syntax highlighting is wonderful. It's so good that community clones started to emerge quickly.
There was even an attempt to mimic the way Markdown files are rendered so developer experience could stay consistent across tools.
The problem is, none of them does the job properly. Most of the copycats handle only a narrow selection of languages; and even when they do claim to support them, some of the language features are just not processed correctly.
With Visual Studio Code being an open-source editor, and also attracting more and more users, I believe there would be value in having an official theme pack branded by GitHub itself.
