What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install and application with search history (for instance
https://market.android.com/details?id=se.petersson.prisjakt ) and ensure that
it has 10+ entries
2. Activate the search function so that the history unfolds (full screen at
first) and Hacker's keyboard is shown (pushing up the history to match).
3. Touch the down arrow to activate the topmost history entry.
What is the expected behavior? What do you see instead?
The topmost entry should highlight while the text is shown in the search field
(allowing the user to write more or edit). This works perfectly on for instance
Motorola Milestone.
Instead, the history dropdown expands to cover the keyboard - this is hard to
see on 2.x, but very obvious on for instance Galaxy Nexus with the above
mentioned app, where it obscures roughly the right half of the keyboard. Also,
the search field doesn't get the highlighted text.
What version of Hacker's Keyboard are you using? (See top of the app's
Settings menu.) On what phone or tablet?
1.28rc21 on Galaxy Nexus, Motorola Milestone, Xoom.
If applicable, does this affect the 4-row or 5-row layout, or both?
Only applicable when there are directional keys (currently 5-row).
Which language(s)?
I've loaded en, sv and ru, though I doubt it makes any difference. mostly
tested on en and sv.
Please provide any additional information below.
Attached Galaxy Nexus screen shot. I'll happily test anything that comes up or
provide more details. Still, I suspect this is really a platform issue, where
the search history implementation simply assumes that directional keys are
always generated by hardware and hence the onscreen keyboard is ignored. If I
start the procedure on my Milestone with the hw keyboard showing as well as
forcing Hacker's keyboard, I can active the first history entry using the soft
keyboard, which and then continue down the history using the hardware keyboard.
Also note that on the Milestone, even the FIRST history entry will be shown in
the search box when using the arrow down on the hacker's keyboard. BTW: The
Milestone is running CM7.1.1 - all the others are stock.
