in addition, since I would like to be well prepared against possible sudden inconveniences, I would like to ask you if you know some computer shops near the department (or someone even inside your department) which can fix problems like bugs, antivirus problems, blocks due to failed updates and so on. My experience suggests this and I asked it to my student residence but for now they haven't replied to me yet. Maybe it is a useful information for everyone in the course since I imagine that everyone will use a laptop during the course. Best regards.
First I would recommend that you have a look at assignment 0 and in general get as much programming under the belt as possible.
The readings are for the topics we discuss in class (would also be a good idea to have a look at that, but not necessary before doing assignment 0. Hope this answers the first question.
Kind regards Lasse
At the campus, there is IT support for general IT problems. We (the TAs) will try to help you fix the bugs that may occur, regarding antivirus problems I believe it's up to you how much protection you prefer in general. Hope this answers the second question.
Kind regards Lasse
In relation to Lasse's first reply, I would also like to add that the reading list may be subject to (slight) changes. So my advice would also be to focus on assignment 0 until the the reading list is finalized - which I expect it will be in a week or two.
Best, Tobias
Thank you, Lasse! Niccolò
This is not a question specific to Python, but I would like to know how we best prepare for this course.
In particular; is it recommended to first work on Assignment 0 and read the associated texts, and then begin to read the texts for Section 1-14? Or should we read everything first and then begin working on the assignment? Or is there a better approach?
