Inappropriate Images for Artists

Biggest issue on this bot, had to get rid of Chuu from numerous servers.

Basically with any command that features an artist's picture, some of the images are fucked up. Examples: Foo Fighters - Doge meme that reads "Fighters When They See A Foo" Gorillaz - Edit of The Nutshack ToP - 9+10 kid Tyler, The Creator - White boy Azealia Banks - Offensive tweets FKA twigs - Cellophane cover but with FKA twigs holding a gun BTS - Coronavirus joke JPEGMAFIA - "Now yes, there was some slavery, but" Loona - Picture of a monkey with text reading "No Picture of Loona" Blackpink - Roblox porn Justin Beiber - His mugshot from 2014

I highly reccomending having the bot only access the artist images on last.fm, as there is a lot less NSFW/offensive images on there. Letting people change the icons would lead to this eventually, so please fix it.

Im so sorry about any issue related to the images. I have implemented a ban feature on users that upload innapropiete images and will start using it now to see if the number of bad images gets reduced.
If that measure doesn't work at all, which its the most probable thing, I will make it so all images have to be mod reviewed before being added to the bot.

And last, I can't really use last.fm images anymore because they dropped them from their api last year, so this is why I went for this approach of user images. (I also get images from discogs and spotify)

Ill keep this issue open and will comment when I do something else related to this.

Hi, is there a way to get unbanned from the image command? I foolishly submitted a bunch of joke pictures and it looks like I'm banned from image voting/viewing for it. I know there isn't exactly a way to guarantee to you I'd never do a joke vote again, but you can always just ban me again if I do. That's my best guarantee I won't put joke votes again. Sorry this was an issue. I'd just like to be able to view images again. Feel free to message me on discord if you want to communicate more about this.

Hiya! I'm here to point out another bad artist image: Fishmans. Their image is a mildly racist meme about uh, fingering women, which just does their work such a disservice.

Hi! I really don't mind most of the "joke" images (like a band's image being a rival, etc...) but there are some that are overly offensive or NSFW

one that comes to mind are Taiga. It is literally a snapshot of a pornographic video. Fix that, please.

Hi, another one here. Steve Hackett's photo is him photoshopped to be wearing a Nazi SS uniform, which...isn't great. Unfortunately we've had to drop the bot in quite a few servers due to this, which is a shame because it's otherwise excellent.

Perhaps a better long-term solution would be to allow servers to toggle custom images on/off and fall back to LastFM images, or better yet allow servers to approve their own images?

Hi, I have also noticed that there are users who send images of real people who have no relation to the artist or band. I have been identifying some users who do this and that they should be removed from the images option.

Just as an example, I have been sending images of friends of mine as an artist image to Lil Pumpo, Romeo Santos and Ed Maverick.

I hope they will verify the images in a better way and preset a single image for the most popular artists.

Hey I’m having the same issue. For Cory Marks and Smo(Country Rapper). First one gave me a black male, idk if he was a rapper, no disrespect, but for a white country artist and the second one was some teenage looking white kid for a big heavyset guy who almost always wears black tinted sunglasses and has a goatee. There’s got to be some way to prevent people from uploading these images for artists. Trying to show people new music to check out is annoying since it’s not the right picture and usually that’s what you look for, the band pic or artist pose, features, expressions, especially these days when most bands and artists have practically the same name and don’t get it copyrighted so there ends up being multiples as well.
