Wouldn’t it be nice if the default option were the new ipv6 protocol and only if that fails it tries to connect via legacy v4. Even when you are not having an ipv6 address on your interfaces, you could do an immediate fallback to ipv4, so your app just works without throwing an error. But that’s just in my little understanding, I’m not a programmer. Just a hint. Thank you very much for your time.
