Error: Windows 11 locks HDD access because HDLBinst is assumed to be malware #71

Issue

Whenever I search for a game and hit 'Install' this happens. What am I doing wrong?

In which package have you experienced this issue?

Have you checked the terminal?

When unhandled error is thrown, it means the issue raised on the windows API, not the program itself

If you're using windows 11 or any AV software, then probably it's a false positive of ransomware due to how HDL dump accesses the HDD.

Didn't you saw the warning about windows 11 the first time HDL batch installer started?

You have to disable AV, windows defender and run HDL batch installer as administrator.

I tried disabling AV and windows defender but no success.

I might try in another OS. Thank you.

I have the same error happening to me. I have v3.5.1 - Revision 5 and im on Windows 11 I receive the error "00000005 (5): Access is denied."

I guess you didn't read the warning that trows on the first boot of the program if it detects windows 11

Windows 11 itself is blocking my program and HDL dump because it thinks it's ransomware due to how they access the hdd
