Unable to validate cluster: unexpected error during validation EOF #3

The following error is present when attempted to validate the cluster:

Using cluster from kubectl context: istio-workshop.k8s.local

Validating cluster istio-workshop.k8s.local

unexpected error during validation: error listing nodes: Get "https://api-istio-workshop-k8s-lo-n58mdh-1825872779.us-east-1.elb.amazonaws.com/api/v1/nodes": EOF

Fixed by bumping kops to 1.18.3.
