What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enable talkback.
2. Perform your usual tasks (navigate through the screen elements, swipe,
launch any element and so on.
3. You will hear various sounds.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I think, sound environment is very important for visually impared users, but
current sounds provided by talkback are not very good. Also there are no way to
customize these sounds. Many of my friends and me would like to have an option
to customize talkback sounds together with the "no sounds" variant. Also I
think, that it would be much better to use audio files instead of midi.
On the other hand, may be, it is possible to make any launcher or theme which
will make different sounds while user navigates through the screen elements,
performs swipes, launches something, changes state of checkboxes and so on?
You know, sound environment is very important for visually impared users,
because we can't see, only hearing and touching are our information sources,
only those channels form our impressions of surrounding world. So, sound
environment is very important aspect of our interaction with any device, and
good sounds bring us more pleasure while interacting with devices and software
products.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm currently using the newest talkback from play market, my OS is android 4.3
(samsung s4 mini gt i9190 with cyanogen mod 10.2.3 on it).
Please provide any additional information below.
Many of visually impared users all around the world would be happy to have an
option like that I've described.
Thank you very much for a great android accessibility!
Best regards, Alexander.
