Some ideas/feedback for you (Libray/Police/Bus Stop/Church)

Any problem with existing icons ?
Yes one small issue:
-The library icon is poor (most are very good) but i had no idea what it
was until i checked its properties. A better image of an open book would be
more clear i think.

Have a suggestion for new icons ? Yes afew ideas:
-"BUS STOP" you have a bus but nothing that says "bus stop".

-Also I think another 'cross' icon would be good to indicate church: (there
are some good ones) but none that really nailed it for me....
just a small house silhouette (square with triangle on top) with a big
cross on top would be a nice addition also I think.

-Another icon for police would be nice too....
The shield is a good concept but as it has no star on it it does not say
"police".... this needs to be reworked i feel (sorry to be critical...most
icons are excellent....keep up the good work :)
Also perhaps a black and white chess board pattern is often used for police
(just another thought.....

)

Your critics are welcome, they are construtive, plus you gave some ideas to 
improve
the current work.
I can only say thanks :)

- Library : I agree. When ideas come, I will see what I can do.
- Bus stop : added to our suggestions list
- Church : we have another one for church

the best
or not. You decide !
- Police : I agree, as soon as I get more ideas. I would go for a star instead 
of a
chess, that I would keep for Chess related activities :)

We are kinda short on time at the moment, I can't garanty we will answer your
requests soon, but be sure we will consider them seriously.

The Bus Stop looks like this:

http://google-maps-icons.googlecode.com/files/bus.png] and has a bus on it, 
that is
normally how Bus Stop signs looks.  We try to avoid having text on the icons 
since
they have to be global. Bus Stop is not called that is German or Spanish for 
instance.

Here are some new Library suggestions, but I actually don't think the original 
is
that bad. As you can see I think they might fit better in the "Administration, 
Office
& Industry" than in Education & Kids...  My favotite is Nr. 1.  Feedback please!

Sorry Matthias, I can't say I like the 3 icons :(

For n°1, when I first saw it, I thought it was a contracted arm.

I can't decide yet on which one is the best. I still prefer the old one.

Hi Nico. Why under education?  Library's are public, normally not connected with
Education, unless it's a University type of Library...  Maybe two types then?

could also argue that it should be under entertainment, just like cinemas...

Hello Matthias !

Education can be public, or private.
That's why I think school (public or private), private teachers, summer camps, 
and
all all have the same goal : teach stuff :)

Meanwhile, I don't want Orange category to be poor... Maybe this category needs
overhaul. I think the Orange category should be important (more than grey or 
brown).
I know this seems subjective....

Thats why I tried another categorization :

I agree with you, but you did not answer my question - a library is not 
education,
it's public administration for me.  I'll make 2 icons, one blue for Public 
Libraries
and one orange for University Library, OK?

For your other question on another categorizations, I'll answer that on that 
page...
