On the other hand, could it happen because of the maps? I got those problems on Clafghan and Sahrani, now that i'm testing it on Altis i'm still getting distances around 5m off, but that's much more acceptible
I think i understood where the overshoots were coming from. I need to shoot at 410 QD to hit. Notice the camera angle, i'm not changing anything else.
Among RHS vehicles only 2s3 has this issue
I think there is an error in your distance measuring formula. I'm getting too large distances (~50m more) all the time, especially noticeable when firing at hilltops with altitude differences. I'm overshooting every time because of this. I also tried setting up the correct distance manually using quicklay which made me undershoot significantly.
I was using 2s1 and 2s3 from the RHS compatibility mod to test it, but I suppose the same formula is used for everything. I used this formula to calculate elevation manually https://prnt.sc/10o5b5s It works for every other mortar, so it worked for 2s1 too. The manually calculated elevation got me direct hits, while the initial elevation was too high and the elevation calculated with corrected range was too low.
When I used this formula with 2s3 it also gave me an elevation lower than calculated by the BCS, but not low enough, so it would still overshoot. However when I switched from low angle to high angle it would undershoot, so I'm suspecting that there is something wrong with the 2s3's sight, displayed elevation or initial speed.
I have no idea how you calculate range, but I used Pythagoras and got accurate numbers
