the captcha is actually so slow i can't even interact with it to log in.
itch helper is using 50-60% of my CPU, itch is using 23%, fans are spinning like mad - this is just sitting at the captcha screen.
i'm not even sure it's rendering right? is it supposed to look like this?
clicking the "i'm a human" checkbox doesn't seem to check it, it seems to pop up the image selector over top of it.
i can't interact with the image selector at all. no clicks seems to register. after like ~30s, a bunch of random clicks seem to show up, activating random squares in the image?
before i can do much else, the image disappears and i'm back to just the checkbox?
I just referenced this in an similar issue with captcha on the od-db website. Maybe it's a google problem?
This issue should go away with reCAPTCHA v3, as no visual is required. Until then, we can look into fixing this.
I reported to this to the ReCAPTCHA team via email and it seems to have been fixed at the source code level? Assuming you and the other places I have seen this issue are still using reCAPTCHA v2.
Will leave issue open for a while.
I faced this issue a few minutes ago. Everything related to reCAPTCHA was really, really slow (I thought first the app was frozen). Clicking on the checkbox at the beginning takes more than 20s to react. I also had a situation where the list of pictures didn't load (see screenshot).
Captcha still times out on macs. Could it be removed and just used for beta testing? I could log in with no problems last month.
In Linux Fedora 40 GNOME 46 the recaptcha doesn't render at all.
