Cant ping Sonoff using mDNS #61

I have bonjour installed on my windows PC. I am able to ping devices in the command prompt as follows:
ping raspberrypi
works as expected...

How can I ping the Sonoff mini in DIY mode, I have tried the following: ping eWeLink_1000a4a2c9 Ping request could not find host eWeLink_1000a4a2c9. Please check the name and try again.

I suspect the device ID '1000a4a2c9' is the default hostname of my Sonoff Mini?!

Anyone help with this. Thanks.

Please ping the IP of the device, but not the hostname

If you use Mac OS, you can ping in this way eWeLink_1000a4a2c9.local
