Sonoff mini with FW 3.3 can't be updated to 3.5 #78

My sonoff mini has FW 3.3 as latest FW version so I cannot upgrade it to 3.5. 2 weeks ago it was possible with other sonoffs minis

MaksimBarakin commented 4 years ago

I've the same issue. 2 of 6 sonoff mini devices report 3.3.0 as the latest available firmware.

shanghaix commented 4 years ago

I asked itead about it, they send out updates to devices gradually so you have to be patient, it will become available eventually.

MubiTec commented 4 years ago

Now I flashed it via soldering so no more issues with itead :-)

Taomyn commented 4 years ago

Where can the 3.5.0 firmware binaries be downloaded?

shanghaix commented 4 years ago

Only through the app.

Daniel-zhan-itead commented 4 years ago

Hi All,

As the mini add the function to set external switch type for pulse mode, edge mode and following mode. we got some feedback from users for this firmware.

Now 3.5.0 firmware was closed

it will effect BASICR3, RFR3 and MINI to upgrade to 3.5.0.

SO some people have upgraded to 3.5.0, most still can't see the upgrade for 3.5.0.

We will release soon, sorry for that.

Thanks Daniel. It would be good to know how long you think the wait will be.

I've tried to use the DIY Tools to switch to DIY mode on my 2 FW 3.3.0 Sonoff Mini's, but I just cannot get them to be found in the DIY Tools. They both cannot fine to my 'configured hotspots', but nothing appears in DIY Tools on Win10.

So I'm really relying on FW 3.5.0 to solve things as at the moment the 2 mini's only work with ewelink and I really don't want that.

Did you try disabling the firewall for public networks on windows10? I had the same issue until I did that. Also 3.5.0 is still not available for me either.

Daniel-zhan-itead commented 4 years ago

Hi All,

3.5.0 firmware is released again.

You can update the firmware via eWeLink application.

Daniel from SONOFF

Taomyn commented 4 years ago

Why won't you release the firmware for normal download so we can reflash our devices back if we have tried another and want to revert back?

shanghaix commented 4 years ago

You backup the original sonoff firmware with esptool via serial connection, so if you flash Tasmota you can always go back to sonoff firmware with the backup.

Taomyn commented 4 years ago

@shanghaix thanks, but that's not what I asked

ramonsmits commented 4 years ago

@Daniel-zhan-itead in the eWeLink app my switches state that they all are on version 3.4.0 labeled "Latest version". How can I update to 3.5.0 ?

@ramonsmits which product did you use?

@ramonsmits which product did you use?

@Daniel-zhan-itead There is not a really good identifier on the device but it states "wifi smart switch". I found this page https://sonoff.tech/product/wifi-diy-smart-switches/basicr2 with this image:

On that page it has the name "BASICR2" and it does not have the DIY label. Does that mean that it cannot be upgraded to firmware 3.5.0 ?

The BASICR2 does not have the DIY Mode capability and 3.4.0 is the latest firmware version.

DIY Mode is only available for BASICR3, RFR3 and MINI.

@Daniel-zhan-itead I think you mean DIY v2 here right? Does DIY v1.4 work with the BASICR2?

Is there any plan to make DIY v2.x available on older generation hardware?
