Cyberduck is a libre FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, Microsoft Azure & OneDrive and OpenStack Swift file transfer client for Mac and Windows.
I have started a new company that does digital photo collages and DVD slide shows using print photos that I scan and digital photos that people send me via CD/DVD, email and FTP uploads to password protected subfolders created for each client that needs to upload digital files. Unfortunately most people have never tried to FTP files. I'm going to be dealing with all kinds of computer users so I want to make it as easy as possible for my clients to upload files to me for processing.
Just to review here is the process I see unfolding using your software, modified for my purposes if possible.
New client fills out a form on my website that tells me he/she has digital files that need to be uploaded to my site.
I go to my site and create a subfolder with user ID and a password
I send an email bill from PayPal that covers 50% of the cost of the collage and/or DVD slide show
With that email is the software you provide to me for free distribution to said clients on an as needed basis. In the form they filled out they would tell me whether they need the PC or Mac version.
They receive their copy of Cyberduck (assuming you have Mac and PC versions) software which they install on their computer.
They open the software which shows the Photo Collages And More logo and directions regarding how to select one or multiple files/folders to upload
They take the user ID and password I have emailed them and enter that information into the proper fields as spelled out in easy to follow directions.
They click upload and the files begin to upload to their subfolder on the server of my hosting company.
At the end of the upload they get a confirmation message along with a thank you from PCAM. This too would include the PCAM logo and an email link for further information and a link back to the PCAM home page.
A text log file would then open on their desktop that would show all files that uploaded: names, file type and size. They could print this off or save it for their records.
At the same time an email message would have already been sent to me indicating the user ID of the client, how many files were uploaded, their names, file types and sizes of each file uploaded.
So this is what I am looking for. Could you modify your product to do all of these things on both a PC and Mac and charge me a reasonable fee for your time and effort. If yes then what would you think is a fair price to pay to have you do this? How long would it take for you to make these modifications to Cyberduck?
I believe Windows XP has a built in FTP client but I would like to think most people would prefer to use a program that is as easy to use as possible.
