Hi, first time contributing here, so apologize i in advance for any silly mistake.
I believe the changes here are enough for the most basic cases, but a more complete solution is described in the bug report.
Since I'm pretty new to the code base, I thought it would be best to not try to update dvc-data in this change set.
Let me know if any additional changes are needed.
