Issues with actions not refreshing on screen

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Doing anything in the program on my EVO on my Desktop Running Ubuntu 10.04 
running typical linux VNC server attributes

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would hope that my actions would be displayed on my phone at some point. 
However I have to send the keys cntrl alt L to lock screen then log back in for 
them to refresh on my display

What version of android-vnc-viewer are you using?
0.4.7

Which VNC server/version are you using?  On which platform?
running currently trying RealVNC free server Ubuntu 10.04

What is the size of the desktop you are trying to access (i.e. 1024x768,
1920x1080...)?1920x1080

What device are you using?
HTC EVO

Are you using a custom ROM?  If so, which?
no standard ROM

Please provide any additional information below.
actions work on my PC and I can get them after locking screen and logging back 
in by it is very frustrating to have it not refresh no matter what I try

This appears to be an issue specific to some VNC servers such as vinagre that 
comes with Ubuntu--  evidently server thinks client has not requested refreshes 
and client thinks it has
