Chromecast : Build 32904 / 38401
Google Cast Media Player v0.6.0 on blinkbox receiver app v2.4.2
This issue has been found by our IT Ops team, who have recognised a change in
behaviour of the Chromecast receiver devices on our live server network logs.
Since firmware versions 32904, customer devices have started requesting
Playready licenses ~300 per movie. The numbers significantly increased with the
recent update to firmware version 38401. This is not causing any issues to
customers or affecting playback, but has increased the load on our servers
considerably.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch BlinkBox movies app
2. Select the movie and cast it
3. Inspect network logs, which show multiple requests per minute to
https://playready.blinkbox.com/license
Expected Result:
The license should be requested once at the beginning of playback.
