Watch asks me to sign in but I'm already signed in #323

The watchla app on Apple watch keeps asking me to sign in to Tesla when I am already signed in. Happens when I try open app or issue commands from the watch complication. Issuing commands from the phone works fine. Things I have tried:

  1. Refreshing app on watch
  2. Checking icloud setting as mentioned in issue #311
  3. Refreshing app on watch using the option in the iOS app
  4. Closing and restarting watchla on watch
  5. Powering off/on Apple watch
  6. Restarting iOS app on phone

Hi @tophermiller thanks for reporting and sorry for the late reply. We will investigate. In the meantime has your app updated with a new support code and have you gotten a chance to update to the latest version of Watchla, v3.7.1?

Updated to 3.7.1 just now and tried again. Issue persists. I'm attaching latest support code photo. Screenshot 2024-03-14 171746

Hi @tophermiller thanks for your patience. From investigating logs associated with your support code, it seems that your watch app is not authenticated. You can fix this in the Watchla iOS app by going to Preferences > Authenticate watch app.

tophermiller commented 2 months ago

Thank you. That worked. However, the setup instructions are very misleading. Right below "Authenticate Watch App" is a option that says "Set up watch app", which is what I followed. It outlines a two step process which doesn't mention the need to do "Authenticate Watch App". See photo of step 2 attached, which makes me feel like after doing this I am done and there is nothing else to do. Maybe consider making this requirement more explicit. Screenshot 2024-03-15 121217
