GearFlyout is a lightweight addon that adds gear flyout buttons to the character panel

Suggestion: Make it more minimal and intuitive, like the old Outfitter gear flyouts #5

For more than 10 years, Outfitter had a gear flyout feature which simply appeared when an item was picked up and disappeared when the item was dropped. The flyout itself showed all the valid items for the slot just like GearFlyout does, but also showed an empty bag slot (no icon; just the background texture of an empty slot), which is very intuitive for showing that you can just put the item there to remove it. It:

When I saw GearFlyout, I was hoping GearFlyout would function this way, but I was a bit disappointed that it required clicking a separate tiny button and wouldn't open when just picking up the item. I suggest changing the addon to work like Outfitter's gear flyout did, which is much more intuitive and beautiful.

Here's a screenshot of Outfitter's "quickslots" feature, which is a gear flyout.

Hi Alex, thank you for your feedback.

GearFlyout simply uses the built-in flyout ; the one that usually only becomes when in the 'Equipment Manager' of the character frame. The addon makes that feature available without having to go to EM. It does not create anything on its own, nor does it make any modifications outside of resizing the arrow buttons to make them smaller than the original.

It's intended that way. The purpose of the addon was to make a lightweight flyout using the built-in feature, not expand on it, although I don't rule out the possibility of adding more to it in the future. I will look into it after the release of TWW, as I'm working on another project to be ready for launch day.

I will keep this issue open as a reminder. Cheers

I understand. Thanks for the information. I have never used the "Equipment Manager" in my many years of playing WoW since I've always just used Outfitter, so I didn't know it looked like this.
