So grateful for your help getting Open Office installed on my Elementary OS! One tiny adjustment, the directory wound up being /en-US/ instead of /en-GB/. Once I scrolled up to see what directory the files were extracted to, smooth sailing. I had previously installed Open Office AND LibreOffice. But I didn't know how to make Open Office finish installing, and LibreOffice got all the way to opening but I couldn't create a new file. The new file options were all greyed out. So your tutorial actually made OO the quicker easier choice.
