Hello Cherrywickle!

I have encountered the same issue, started about a month ago.

Not sure which mod is causing this however, I have found that editing the betteranimalmodels-client.toml file to _"replacepig = false" has a positive result. Note: I use Notepad ++ for making these edits.

Although, you may have to try loading Minecraft a number of times until Minecraft loads. Sorry, best answer I have come up with in the past month.

Using Forge Version 40.2.1 or 40.2.2 results in the error as well.
