Although the ITK CDA messaging specifications do not restrict the content that can be put into a structured text section, we do specify the headings that should be used in the interoperability standards.
This may have led to people relying on finding certain headings within that section - this is not the intended use of those.
It also restricts more flexible use of the CDA documents e.g. where a message producer is not using NHS Pathways, or where there is additional information that would be useful to include.
We should look to make the guidance around this section more flexible in order that it can be used for a wider range of information types.
