Additional information

This instance has been public before and nothing has changed in the configuration since then.

I'm hoping that the relisting can be expedited. I simply do not need the excess capacity on this server anymore, and do not expect to need it anytime soon.

Hello! Your instance has been added to our monitoring system: https://updown.io/f8dc You need to wait 30 days before we add your instance, this is to evaluate that your instance will keep a good uptime for one month.

Make sure you double checked all the mandatory checks or this will slow down the process of adding your instance!

Please consult these two important tutorials:

It is highly recommended to follow these tutorials because it will allow the instance to stay stable and performant over the long term.

Please consider joining the Matrix room for public instance maintainers by joining our Matrix room: https://matrix.to/#/#invidious:matrix.org then pinging @ unixfox, @ TheFrenchGhosty and @ SamantazFox for asking to be invited to the Matrix room. We discuss troubles managing a public instance, sharing some advices and more.

@n8pjl Apologies for not reviewing your instance sooner.

In terms of uptime, your instance looks fine at >99% monthly rolling uptime. Account creation and preferences also work properly.

However, there are a few issues that should be addressed:

  1. Although you've set max-age=31536000; includeSubDomains; preload for your HSTS header, your instance is not being preloaded. This is because the correct HSTS header needs to be set on the root domain n8pjl.ca as well. Refer to hstspreload.org for more information on setting this up properly.

  2. Playback seems to be broken on your instance at the moment, with video pages returning HTTP 500 and the Watch on the latest version of YouTube error message. Make sure that you have set up IPv6 address rotation correctly according to the documentation.

  3. This is mostly a nitpick, but your instance is currently including a rather specific server header in its responses. You may want to review the MDN documentation on this header and decide if you wish to continue including it or not.

Thanks for looking at the instance before the 30 days are up.

1) I didn't have preload set on my HSTS header. This has been fixed on the root and all subdomains. 2) I already rotate my ip once a day, though I've recently gotten a few 500 errors. I'll set the rotation to occur more frequently. 3) I personally don't mind including the server header. Thanks for the tip though.

I'm sunsetting this instance to be shut down in October. I no longer wish for the domain to be listed.
