Awesome project, @ivangayton. What are your specs for foam and carbon fiber sheet + rods?

ivangayton commented 9 years ago

Foam: current best practice is 2-inch rigid polystyrene insulation foam: http://www.homedepot.ca/product/foamular-c-300-extruded-polystyrene-rigid-insulation-24-inch-x-96-inch-x-2-/905952

Using this rigid foam with a good thickness removes the necessity for carbon fiber sheet.

The rods I used in the previous build were 15mm carbon fiber from Rockwest Composites (pretty much any 15mm rods will work, and that's a common size because it's the standard for camera rails): http://www.rockwestcomposites.com/search?term=45409&x=0&y=0

However, I no longer use this! I've moved to 20mm bamboo stakes! I'll put up a link shortly

Does the CAD file work OK with 20mm bamboo stakes, or does it need modified?
