Controller Config Screen crashed #147

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Considering Options->Input Controller&Key emulation:

I'm getting a crash on
   - choosing key emulation preset (onklick on dropdown)
   - changing any value of the input fields (onchange event)

It happens on windows 7, regardless of installed input devices. The programm
stops responding, windows fades it to x% white, the typical stuff...

Logs are a must, you need to include them, basically all .log .cfg and .xml
from user dir after crash.

Oh right. Should have thought about that.
I'm also sorry about the poor meta info of this Issue, but I couldn't change
anything anymore after posting. This feature was requested for Google Code back
in 2005 already.

Here you go. But I can't find an error message in those. I think it crashes
before writing the error report.

Strangely it doesn't happen everytime anymore, since I unplugged all X-Box 360
Controllers. I'll continue fiddling around with it in the evening.

It does not matter if I have a controller installed, it crashes if I have at
least one axis configured ans perform one of the actions mentioned above.
I sill can't find anything in the logs though.

Right, nothing in logs from input.
This is strange, I don't know why this happens.
Could you maybe try to replace your keys.xml from config/keys-default.xml and
then try to bind just 1 axis ? Maybe its something wrong with all that not
bound keys.

Doesn't it copy that one, if there is no keys.xml on start-up?

Anyway I did as suggested and am sorry to disappoint you. It crashes the same
way even if there is only one axis used, and all other inputs from that player
are bound to keys.

I also tried another analog input device (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) which again,
produces the same errors.

Hmm, strange.
One only suggestion now, what regional settings/language do you have set in
system ?
Maybe there is still something translated in OISB or something gets bad when
put into Gui.
Could you try to set it to English and start game also in english (set language
= en in game.cfg or just pick in gui).
If this doesn't help, I could build an exe (and send it to you) with lots of
log messages to get to the place where it actually crashes. Or can you build
the game from sources ?

My system language is English, but I am using the Swiss German keyboard layout,
location and format Settings.
The crash still happens with language set to "en". The value was empty before,
so I guess it used the English language file already.

If you recommend an SDK I could build it, but I'm currently short on time and I
guess you know the code a lot better. It would be awesome if you could provide
said executable.

Closing. Mentioned in issue 188, will have to solve there.
