Found a strange bug that causes Kodi to Close when we use the search button. #139

Hello, i made a post about this in Reddit.

But i think I found a strange bug that causes Kodi to just close out of the blue 90% of the time whenever I do this. This happens on both Nimbus and Fen-tastic skin, even though I mainly use Fen-tastic. And this also occurs even if we the homepage is all blank and we don't use any widgets.

The crashing is caused by the Search button on the home page menu on both Nimbus and Fen-tastic. If I search for a movie/TV show using that search button and watch a movie (using Fen-Light in this case), and then after a few minutes, whenever i stop the video and then return back to home page using the backspace, that's when Kodi just crashes.

If I however create and use a Search widget and search for a movie from there and do the same steps, everything works great. So it has to be the search button for some strange reason.

Here are the steps for it to crash.

  1. Use Fen-tastic skin and search for a movie/TV show (I used Fen-Light) using the search button from homepage.
  2. Watch that movie for a couple of minutes.
  3. Stop the video and then use backspace/ESC to return to the homepage.
  4. Crash?

When you stop video playback and you return to the previous window, are you returning to the search window or the home window?

Hello, when I stop the video playback it returns me to the search results window and then when I click backspace twice (depending where the movie I'm looking for is. If it's the first result, then I only need to click once. If it's the second, third etc, then I need to click twice). After that I return to the home window.

I have the logs when this happened.
