Folder Missing #57

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
One of my folders is missing and the extensions that were in it don't show
anywhere anymore. It happened perhaps when I accidentally dragged the
folder somewhere, but I'm not sure where it was dragged. I looked for it as
a subfolder in the other folders. I know that they're still there as search
plugins because they show up when I disable this extension.

Organize Search Engines v1.5; Firefox version 5.3.2; Windows XP

Can you please attach or mail (firefox@maltekraus.de) me the file
organize-search-engines.rdf from your profile folder
(http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles#How_to_find_your_profile)? (It
contains
all the names of your search engines and folders, let me know if this is a
problem
for you.)

To get the engines back immediately you can then rename this file (when Firefox
is
closed) - this resets all folders and separators.

I finally found out how that happens. You are able to move folders into
themselves,
which lets them vanish.

Thanks for your help. I could reproduce the issue from comment 4 and just fixed
it.

I just updated to OSE 1.6 (on Firefox 3.5.7, Windows Vista) and sadly still can
move
a folder into itself, making it vanish. To be sure I even created a new Firefox
profile and installed only OSE and can still reproduce it.
It seems though that the folder comes back when i restart Firefox. At least I
don't
have to manually restore the organize-search-engines.rdf from my backup anymore
if i
happen to do the accidental drag.
