I took them for Git versions in the first place and was puzzled why this did not work out as expected. I hope this could spare others some scratching of their heads.
When already using embuild's short version form, why not using the short form for setting environment variables as well?

Thank you for already updating the format in the meantime! This leaves just adding the reference to this PR.

I added hash marks in between the individual options to optically connect them into a single comment block. Feel free to remove them or tell me to do so.
