As far as I know, the "Resource Metadata" document is not a model, but rather a description of metadata. As I consolidated the content from the source models (ObsCore, Spectrum, etc), I also cross-referenced the descriptions with the RM document and cited the appropriate section. That may have been overkill, but it seemed appropriate.
I'm not sure what the RM document is used for, but now the relation to this content is pretty explicit.
The RM document is a description, but the point I was trying to make is that the registry is a good test case for whether some of the concepts were actually useful.
There is another point that the registry already contains instances of some of these concepts - would the model do better just to point to those instances?
This model does repeat quite a few concepts that exist in the registry data model. I suspect that it was discussed before, but it might be worth reviewing the concepts from the registry and to see how well they have worked in practice.
