What are your intentions to keep the file format GMAPCatcher?.

OSM format is more compatible and supported by OpenLayers.

Can convert the downloaded maps and continue downloading from OSM format now.

Attachment file with the changes that I replaced in the source code and a
compiled file, including the OSM format.

The default GMapCatcher is file format is optimized to keep the folders with
few files inside, having large amount of files in one folder (like OSM does)
will cause some serious index problems, like: backups will take forever to run,
disk read access will be much slower.

You can use OSM if that is what you prefer, but the default file format is here
to stay.

OK, I understand the explanation. Better is use the format GMapCatcher and
make OpenLayers use with the GMapCatcher format.

I see where you are going...
GMapCatcher is not a map server! you should look for a real map server or user
the map tiles directly from the provider.
