The 3rd para on the contribute page has for a long time read:
To ensure the anonymity of contributors, we do not store the IP address of your personal device, but only a truncated version, with the last quad zeroed out. eg. 123.456.781.0.
but this IP address is not legit, making us look like dweebs in the eyes of those who actually know anything about IP addresses, which are write in octal, not decimal. So this is better written as:
To ensure the anonymity of contributors, we do not store the IP address of your personal device, but only a truncated version, with the last quad zeroed out. eg. 123.456.701.234 >> 123.456.701.000.
