I'm opening the PR in case you have something to say about it before I merge.
Right now GCDAsyncSocket is maintained in order to allow it to work with other platforms (iOS only right now), which is something I'm not sure it makes sense maintaining in the future.
I think this is the natural step preparing for Swift getting open source.
