Checklist

Affected version

3.6.4

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Go to Feed, get nothing.
  2. Open a followed profile, the tweets show up!
  3. Try opening tweet replies.

Expected behavior

The feed showing up and showing tweets, the feed stopped working around... 30 minutes ago maximum. Alternatively being able to see tweet replies.

Actual behavior

When opening the feed you get a blank screen I haven't yet managed to get an error message for the feed. But when opening the profile of someone and trying to see the replies to their tweets I get an error: Unable to load tweet "_TypeError"

dont know if it is the same problem like #178, but i have the same behavior since some hours. feed is blank without error message, but can still view profiles from subscriptions with their tweets and also tweets replies for these tweets.

everything search related results in the "_TypeError"-failure mentioned above.

I think it might be, considering that guest accounts have been removed

I have been looking closely at the api for months and I cannot see a workaround other than using actual accounts

Can share and open a link to a browser right now but not to squawker, why not implement this method?

It works again. No idea if this is permanent or temporary.

cant confirm.

Still works, albeit taking a long time to load anything. Probably because most of my guest accounts have either expired or are being rate-limited.

This is what happens after a few minutes of browsing.

zer0fl0w commented 8 months ago

we are talking about feed, not individual tweets/profiles.

The feed loads.

lucky you (:

Of course the feeds, profiles and searches still work, although heavily rate limited. The problem right now is the inability to create new guest accounts. When the already created guest accounts that are kept in the app's cache expire, then the feeds, profiles and searches won't work anymore. Hope that a workaround will appear... sooner than later.

The version v3.7.0 allows you to use a regular Twitter/X account. To add the information (username/password) of your regular Twitter/X account, go to Settings / Account and tap on the plus icon. Since each account is rate limited (same with the guest accounts), you can add as many as you want. This wiki page explains how to create a Twitter/X account that is privacy oriented.
