More of a suggestion than an issue but what about chrome apps ?

probably a good idea, i havent looked into the space yet, but would be happy to take a look. i would guess this package or ember-cli-standalone would do the job.

Still haven't played with this, however you would probably just want to provide a custom manifest that specifies that this will be a packaged app. I could see this being a configuration setting in the future, i'll try to dig into packaged apps a bit more.
