Car unrecognized after update #42

Open dperk11 opened 2 months ago

dperk11 commented 2 months ago

I did the most recent update today 0.9.6 and now OP says Car unrecognized. This is a 2019 grand Cherokee with a comma 3.

Miniz199922 commented 2 months ago

You running beta or release. WP? What options are turned on.

dperk11 commented 2 months ago

Release, no panda.

I believe all my toggles are stock/default

Miniz199922 commented 2 months ago

Make sure the speed spoof is off. Maybe it was turned on somehow.

dperk11 commented 2 months ago

It is off. I went through all the settings to see if something looked off, and it all looks totally normal.

Miniz199922 commented 2 months ago

Miniz199922 commented 2 months ago

Also make sure auto on ACC is off.

dperk11 commented 2 months ago

I will try installing the beta right now

dperk11 commented 2 months ago

Ok, for whatever reason, it wouldn’t take the beta or release url, so I put in the stock open pilot url and it downloaded just fine. But after installation, I still get far unrecognized. How does this get fixed? I’ve got a 30 hour road trip coming up this weekend and this would SUCK to not have.

So that's weird. Check all your cables. Something else is going on. bit.ly/jvePilot-beta

Could it just be the new version that’s causing the issue?

Install this one bit.ly/jvePilot-beta then check for update and select a different branch like upgrade/0.9.5 if that works you will have to do a pull request for openpilot because all forks pull from them.

This is what I keep getting. “Download failed”

Are you in discord asking the, support channel. Think your device is having an issue. Or do you think it's your Wi-Fi?

dperk11 commented 2 months ago

Not my wifi---I'm a network engineer...

Holy crap, I got it to take! The only thing I changed was the p in Pilot was not capitalized. I had no idea that would be case sensitive....

Now I'm going to go back down to my car to see if it'll recognize it...

Miniz199922 commented 2 months ago

Ok if it doesn't work check for update and select the other branch for 0.9.5

dperk11 commented 2 months ago

Didn’t work, trying to get 0.9.5 back now…

Well, there goes 3 hours of my life I’ll never get back…but it works again now that I’m back on 0.9.5. Would be nice if someone can make sure people know about this until it gets fixed.

Thank you for your help and sticking through this with me. Couldn’t have figured it out without you!

You need to report this on the comma GitHub or it will never get fixed.

@Miniz199922 thanks for helping out here!

@dperk11 Comma has switched to a new fingerprinting method for our vehicles and it's missing some Jeep codes. If you don't get your codes into the main branch, your Jeep will be left behind. Here is a tutorial: https://github.com/commaai/openpilot/wiki/Fingerprinting

dperk11 commented 2 months ago

Thanks John, I’ll go through that tutorial and see if I can figure it out.
