how can i enter the macOS？ #1

First of all, thank you very much。 I have replaced the EFI to the corresponding location, and the computer starts directly into windows。so what should i do next？

Hello. Thank you for using my EFI. If your hackintosh is usable it’s pretty much done. The next step is really simple.

  1. Download bootICE Here’s the link: https://a236.x8top.net/v2106xm/2017/10/18/bootice.zip
  2. Extract the zip, run the compatible version (x86 or x64)
  3. Select the UEFI tab
  4. Select the “edit boot entry” option.
  5. Add a new boot entry.
  6. Insert “name” of the boot os ( anything you want) The destination is EFI/Boot/BOOTx64.efi ( I’m currently at school so i dont remember the exact boot destination. If you are okay, I could help you do the EFI through Teamviewer.)
  7. Save the current boot entry
    • If you want Opencore to boot first, you can select “name” ( the name of the boot os you set above). Select Up until “name” is on top of the list.
  8. Reboot and Opencore Bootloader should come up.

Thank you for your quick reply， i have already done with the boot entry and it works well. but i add the path is EFI/OC/OpenCore.efi

there is only one question: the entry selection has only mac without windows，so i decide to test for times . I think i will get it soon. thanks again.

Hello. Thanks for the reply. I’m also trying to have Windows option on my Opencore Bootloader. If you have a solution, please let me know. Note: If you reset your NVRAM, you have to add the boot entry again. Again, thanks for using my EFI.

i think i succeed add Windows option to the Opencore Bootloader. -√- the solution is as follows： 1、rename the file named "bootx64.efi" in EFI/BOOT to "opencore.efi" 2、under winpe or windows add the UEFI startup item pointing path “EFI/BOOT/opencore.efi” with using BOOTICE.exe 3、Modify oc‘s  config.plist ：Misc => ScanPolicy =0； Misc => HideSelf ：NO then reset the system，you can see windows and mac options on the Opencore Bootloader

About updating to Catalina, can I have your laptop's full spec? If your spec is similar to mine, you can update to Catalina ( The Wifi card might not work ). As far as i know, you can update to Big Sur. However, Catalina is the most suitable.

my laptop's spec is Exactly the same as yours.

CPU : Intel Core i5-3230M GPU : Intel HD Graphics 4000

Do you need to know other spec ？

To be more specific, what is your WIFI card model? If your spec is exactly as mine, you can update to Catalina from App Store. However, your Wifi card might not be supported on Catalina. I'd like to know about your WIFI card in order to provide you the suitable solution. Mojave is usable. If you really want to update to Catalina or Big Sur, it's 100% possible, but you might need to install additional kexts.

well my WIFI comes with my laptop, so i've always used a wired network.

tomorrow i will send the WIFI card model to you because the laptop is in company.

The WIFI card coming with the laptop is Atheros AR9485 (It might be different) That WIFI card is supported with a kext, but the internet speed is really low on 2.4G/5G combo WIFI, and the bluetooth is not working, so I have modded the BIOS to change the WIFI card and use DW1510(No bluetooth, but really cheap). The speed is decent in MacOS, but kinda slow in Windows. They have a fix for that but Windows 11 doesnt let me. Anyway, have a good night!

Hi I‘m sorry to bother you again. now i find a problem that the macOS  often gets stuck when restarting. it just stay on the desktop when i  clicked the  restart button. i think it is the RealtekRTL8100’s . this is the error report

Thanks for your care! I recommend disable the PXE Boot to LAN. There isn't any proof that it affects the Hackintosh, but there's also no situation where you need to use PXE boot in your daily life, unless your work requires. So yeah you are probably right, the issue is the RealtekRTL8100.kext You should backup your EFI file, delete and disable the RealtekRTL8100.kext and install RealtekRTL8111.kext with Opencore Configurator:

Thanks for your care! I recommend disable the PXE Boot to LAN. There isn't any proof that it affects the Hackintosh, but there's also no situation where you need to use PXE boot in your daily life, unless your work requires. So yeah you are probably right, the issue is the RealtekRTL8100.kext You should backup your EFI file, delete and disable the RealtekRTL8100.kext and install RealtekRTL8111.kext with Opencore Configurator:

Run Opencore Configurator

Mount your EFI folder

Open your config.plist file

Switch to kernel tab

Select Download/Update kext, a window should pop up

Wait a few seconds for the kexts to load

You should also notice that the partition is EFI and the Location is EFI/OC/Kexts

There might have some outdated kexts, you could try to update them. (Not updating doesn't affect anything)

Find RealtekRTL8111.kext then tick the box, press Download

Make sure the RealtekRTL8111.kext file is in the correct folder and appears on Opencore Configurator.

Restart your Laptop and try using it for a while.

If anything goes wrong, you may use the backup EFI file. I hope this solves the problem!

Bad news I have tried all kinds of methods, including what you said, but they didn't work. So I gave up. I just don't  restart the system in the future. HaHa Thanks again

Sorry for really late response. To be honest, I never restart my laptop, only shutdown or sleep :< Restarting causes my iGPU patch to stop working, so shutdown is the best option. I have finally been able to install Big Sur on the Lenovo, so should you be interested, I will upload an EFI! I'm now closing this issue, again xD Anyways, have a happy Lunar New Year!
